Nye Hill & Our Community

Jesus said that whatsoever we do to the least of our brothers, so we do unto him. A reminder that we belong to a community, and that there is meaning, and responsibility, in that. In his book Deeper Than Words, David Steindl-Rast writes “Meaning springs from belonging”.

Our seasonal farm stand makes organic produce accessible and affordable to those for whom it is otherwise not. No one leaves without what they need, regardless of their means. We support the Keene Community Kitchen with regular deliveries of fresh produce, and every year our resident potters donate their hand-crafted wares to the Kitchen’s Empty Bowls fundraiser. Our resident brewers regularly offer their signature pint glasses in exchange for a donation, in any amount, to Keene’s Hundred Nights Shelter and throughout the year, visitors at the farm are welcome to join us in our practice of giving alms to the shelter and other community organizations.

“Meaning springs from belonging.”

Nye Hill Farm Stand

Nye Hill Farm extends our sincere appreciation to the town folk of Roxbury for supporting our efforts to bring community together around good, healthy, affordable food. With the strong approval of the town’s selectmen, we set up a farm stand at town hall, every Monday afternoon, weather permitting, from mid-June to mid-Fall. People show up, get something for their tables, talk a while with us and with each other.

Community.
